(ACE) program
The Artist Citizen Ensemble Program provides you with the tools, know-how, and mentorship to build your ideas from the ground up. The ACE Program is built on a model of collaboration and mentorship, customized to each cohort of students.
Mission:
to provide mentorship and collaborative learning opportunities for young artists to develop their identity and creative values
to empower young artists to create original art
to create an intentionally positive space for young people to grow in community, celebrate their physical abilities, and build self-worth
to encourage art-making with community, and practice creating through an activist eye, a sustainable spirit, and a commitment to society
to offer an equitable opportunity for all young artists by reducing barriers to entry as much as possible
This program
is for any creatively-minded person aged 15-24.
This includes but is not limited to:
dancers & choreographers
musicians, singers, & composers
filmmakers
visual artists
actors
creative writers
makers
technical artists (theatrical tech, engineering, design, computer technology)
environmental & social activists
By the end of this program, you will be able to:
Create an artistic product (dance, music, film, etc) in collaboration with other artists
Manage all technical aspects of the event/product (i.e. lighting, sound, stage managing, etc)
Manage all logistical aspects of a production (i.e. budgeting, marketing, collaborating)
Engage with the community as an artist citizen

Application Process:
Applications are currently being accepted on a rolling basis, and cohorts are created based on interest. Please email julie.muskat@gmail.com to inform us of your interest and receive an application and/or more information.

Length of program
Can vary between a 2-week intensive, 4-week intensive, or full 3-month summer cohort depending on project details and participant requests.

Sample Schedule
(for a full-length summer cohort)
Initial Meeting: meet your fellow artists, discuss/decide on schedule details
Monthly Planning Meetings: 2hrs 1x/mo Jan-May (in-person or virtual depending on participants)
Intensive Weekend: 2-day intensive in June
Production Classes: 1x/wk June-July
Meetups: June-July/August, entirely based on needs of project (including group/solo tasks, advising with mentor, collaboration/rehearsal time)
Community engagement/special fundraising/events/tech time: based on project needs (decided in planning meetings)
